Busy day of holiday happenings. This morning, Cate and her RAK group placed wreaths at DFW National cemetery for Wreaths Across America, we made tamales at our friends’ house, then ended the evening with our annual drive to see Christmas lights with hot cocoa.
Matt’s office Christmas Party
So incredibly proud of Cate and her friends, Maree and Samantha. These girls are part of a larger @popcsplano 6th grade RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) Group. Each month, a different small group uses their monthly monetary donations to carry out a RAK project of their choosing. December was their turn. They decided to use the funds to purchase 2 Little Tykes Cozy Coupe cars (Dino and Fairy) to assemble and deliver to Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. What prompted their decision was I had mentioned to our family one night how I’d heard from a friend that the hospital was in need of some new riding cars/wagons to add to their “fleet” to replace some that were past their prime. This struck a cord since Will had used several of these wagons/cars on his multiple stays/surgeries at that very hospital (swipe to the end to see pics of Will in 2011/2014). Cate took the idea to her friends and they wished to carry out this need for the hospital. Together, they assembled them this weekend and created signs to hang on the back. We made the special delivery to the hospital today just in time for their Christmas events starting next week. Maree also baked cookies for the staff. My heart was touched by their giving spirit, especially during this blessed time of year. @popcsplano
Ho Ho Noooooooo 🎅🏻🤣
Fondue birthday dinner with friends.
Happy 15th Birthday to the special boy who made me a mom. This kid has the biggest heart and the kindest soul. He makes me want to be a better person. This year of transition into high school has not been the easiest, but he has handled all that life has thrown him with resilience, determination, forgiveness and grace. Look out world, you’ve got an amazing young man ready to take you by storm! May 2019 be the best year yet. I love you, Maxman.
Wearing crazy socks today in memory and honor of President George H.W. Bush. By request of the student council of our Plano school, @popcsplano, students will be sporting crazy socks as we remember “41” and his service to our great nation. @georgewbush @jennabhager @laurawbush @popcsplano @georgewbush @jennabhager @laurawbush
Last night, Max achieved Life Rank (last rank before Eagle) at his troop’s fall Court of Honor. He also served as one of the emcees of the ceremony to fulfill the last requirement for his Communication merit badge. In addition, he earned 5 additional merit badges. We are so proud of him and his hard work and dedication in Boy Scouts. Eagle is on the horizon! ⚜️
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
He still gives her this side eye when she hugs him! 😂
