Thank you @therealruthecarter for starting this challenge to finish out #WomensHistoryMonth, and thanks to my mom for embarrassing herself with her singing voice so I didn't have to. #ShadyBaby loves a fun opportunity to lift up other women, so I think this is a great way to end #WomensHistoryMonth. It's never too early to empower other women, so I nominate @lennoxgrae @lockeraen (@deirdremaloney), @crosby_sparrow (@ms_nix) and @growingupindi ( @massy.arias) to complete this challenge of singing, lip syncing, or dancing to their favorite female empowerment song. You can ask your mom for help too! 🎵 @therealmaryjblige #WomensHistoryMonth #ShadyBaby #WomensHistoryMonth @therealruthecarter @lennoxgrae @lockeraen @deirdremaloney @crosby_sparrow @ms_nix @growingupindi @massy @therealmaryjblige
Taking a butternut squash break to write this week's #WCW. Please meet the brave Anoyara Khatun. At a young age, Anoyara was forced to leave her home and begin working as domestic help. After grueling labor, she realized the situation and living accommodations for the children in her village were terrible and inhumane. Children were being forced into labor, marriages, and even being trafficked to surrounding cities. Anoyara felt that something needed to be done, so she created a campaign and became a member of the Save the Children’s Multi- Activity Centre in her village. She spent days learning about the rights of children, and quickly took action, forming 40 children groups to help spread her mission. Anoyara’s leadership and unwavering courage has helped to reunite more than 180 trafficked children with their families, prevent 35 child marriages, and rescue 85 children from child labor. “I dream of a world where every child lives happily, and I will surely render my tiny contribution in this,” states Anoyara. So thankful for kids like you! #WCW
I just farted. Life is good.
If this dog thinks he's gonna out cute me, he's got another thang comin.
#ShadyBaby is up from her nap to spread some inspiration! This week’s #WCW is Sophia Cruz, a revolutionary young activist who is just 8 years old. She is a voice for hundreds of children who were born to undocumented immigrants. Her hope is to ensure the continuance of the DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans ) program, which would allow her parents to remain in the United States legally. Her activism guided her to meet President Obama in 2016, but her parents could not attend because of their undocumented status. She then went on to join the Women’s March in D.C. where her words touched the hearts of thousands; “We are here together making a chain of love to protect our families. Let us fight with love, faith, and courage so that our families will not be destroyed.” Sophie you have already left a positive and significant impact on our nation. I can’t wait to watch you continue to change the world. #ShadyBaby #WCW
