Bracing stroll along Worthing's beautiful art deco pier this afternoon. I find art deco art, design and architecture really beautiful and I think I've always been inspired by that era. We were in Worthing to see @asheswithart about having some of my dad's ashes fused in glass and made into a ring. Their work is beautiful and the people were so lovely and helpful. That colourful stained glass on the left in the 1st pic (which you can see in more detail in my stories btw, it's gorgeous) is by Siobhan Jones the @asheswithart glass artist. All in all an unexpectedly fantastic afternoon. Love it when that happens. @asheswithart @asheswithart

Pic 1 - my #bestnine2018 as chosen by Instagram's algorithm. Nice to see so much of my fabric painting in there and possibly one of my favourite makes - that Fulwood dress in Ikea fabric, as well as my knits book and in the centre my 1st post after I lost my dad.....Pic 2 - my best nine as chosen by me. Tough as 2018 has been the most awful year of my life, but there were 1 or 2 glimmers of light in the dark - some experimenting with printing/painting/embroidering and patchworking with fabrics instead of making clothes, being made to feel part of the family when I finally got round to visiting the lovely folk @fabworksmillshop, seeing some inspiring art at one of my favourite places - @yspsculpture and a wonderful holiday in a cottage just outside Sheffield which helped me start to see glimmers of light again......I'm very glad to be seeing the back of you 2018 and hoping 2019 holds something better. #bestnine2018 @fabworksmillshop @yspsculpture
I normally keep the doggy pics to their own account @gypsyandmarmite but this one of Marmitedog doing the best ever photobomb from yesterday is just too funny. Makes me smile everytime I look at it and that's no bad thing! Hope it has a similar effect on you 😃 @gypsyandmarmite
I hope you've all had an enjoyable few festive days. This is what it's all about for me - time to get outside in nature, taking the air, keeping healthy, enjoying the company of my partner and my dogs and finding new inspiration to recharge my creative batteries. No perfect interiors, perfectly decorated Christmas trees, perfect dinner tables or piles of perfect presents to see here. Wishing you a peaceful end of 2018.
